Handspun Desi Wool/cotton double -natural

$64.00
sold out

Heavy weight: suitable for coating, upholstery, etc

The nomadic pastoral herders of Kachchh, India are known as Maldharis, they have been in co-existence with the native desi sheep and camels for centuries- walking together for months across the country in search of pastoral grazing lands. They provide fleeces for a cooperative of artisans who wash, handspin, dye and weave the yarn in their villages.

This is a jacquard double weave: the backing is 100% organic unbleached kala cotton from the region and the right side is 100% desi wool: A ‘natural’ (undyed/unbleached) yarn and iron dyed yarn

All of our textiles are sourced ourselves. We love this minimally processed coarse wool and the imperfections that come from hand spinning and dye variation.

  • approx 40”wide and sold by the yard.

  • Dry Clean only

  • Purchase a sample to check the color and weight

  • 100% organic wool: Raised, sheared, spun, dyed and woven in Kachchh, India
