Handmade tunic/mini dress with boxy silhouette, completely assembled and embroidered by hand. This is a total one-off, one of a kind dress. It was sewn from grain sacks that were disassembled and cut, it features some faint text and printed areas from the grain sacks former use. The embroidered back is a variation of the 'Pakudos' that is believed to bring protection to the wearer, this variation is improvised from an antique Mangyan piece in a museum collection.

(Philippine) Mangyan women can take months to complete these traditional pieces, which are actually menswear in their culture. Embroidery was historically the shortest part of the process as they would plant, harvest, separate, dry, spin, and then weave the cotton fibers. These, however are made from reclaimed synthetic grain sacks.
